Music plays a massive role in The Take, and as befits a series that spans 10 years and some of the more significant cultural moments in music history, the soundtrack is incredibly diverse - from ABC, AC/DC, and UB40, all the way to Bananarama, Duran Duran, and Kasabian.
Early on in the series, Freddie's father asks his son if he's heard about a new singer called "Sade." Freddie shrugs and admits "I'm more of a Pink Floyd man myself." So whether you're interested in "Ordinary Love" or "Dark Side of the Moon," there's something on the Take's soundtrack for you.
"The Take" includes an incredible sequence set at a 1988 rave, and Screenwriter Neil Biswas says it was important to him to be authentic regarding the music. "I was thrilled that they included 'Strings of Life,' which anyone who was there would recognize as an authentic rave track." The scene also uses house classics from Frankie Knuckles and Mr. Fingers.
