“Four Beheadings and a Funeral” — In Victorian London, in the year 1890, a shadowy figure stabs and kills a harlot. Word of the death reaches detective Eliza Simpson (Lisa) and her assistant, Dr. Bartley (Bart). With four deaths attributed to the killer, Eliza vows to stop the fiend before he strikes again. Eliza offers her assistance to Inspector Wiggum of Scotland Yard. Wiggum says he’s already caught the killer, the mysterious Hindu named Apu. Apu insists he’s innocent, and a short time later a cockney woman gives police a bloodstained dagger a strange man dropped at her feet. Eliza takes the blade to the Emporium of Oddities, run by a purveyor (Comic Book Guy). He says he sold the blade as part of a set. Before he can obtain the name of the buyer from his ledger, the purveyor is murdered. Eliza determines the blade set was sold to C. Ebenezer Burns. Eliza and Bartley find Burns in an opium den. He says he sold the blade set to support his drug habit. He identifies a stout man (Homer) as the buyer. Homer tries making a getaway, only to run straight into the arms of Inspector Wiggum. When another harlot is murdered, Eliza realizes Homer is innocent. She and Bartley race to the public yard, where Homer is about to be hanged. Eliza says Homer is innocent. Based on newly acquired evidence, Eliza identifies Wiggum as the killer. Wiggum says his dog told him to commit the murders. Wiggum tries to escape in a hot air balloon, but he runs into Kang and Kodos, who promptly eat him.
“In the Belly of the Boss” — Professor Frink shows off his latest invention, a pill containing a lifetime supply of vitamins. Maggie climbs inside the pill capsule when no one is looking. Moments later Frink shrinks the pill, not realizing Maggie is inside. Mr. Burns swallows the pill, thinking its vitamins will provide him a lifetime of health. When Frink realizes Maggie is inside the pill, he tells the Simpsons that Maggie will be dissolved by Burns’ stomach acid in thirty minutes. Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Bart volunteer to be miniaturized so they can pilot a rescue vessel through Burns’ body and save Maggie. Using a syringe, Frink injects the miniature sub into Burns’ neck. Homer pilots the ship toward Burns’ stomach, where Maggie’s vitamin capsule is wedged on a drain-style exit. Homer and the others rescue Maggie, but because the time limit is running out, she begins to grow in size. Lisa realizes that Maggie’s extra weight will make it impossible for the ship to make it outside the body. Homer volunteers to remain behind so his family can escape. Later Homer begins to expand… until he and Mr. Burns are fused into one.
