On Halloween… Homer kills off celebrities so their likenesses can be exploited; Transformers-like robots duke it out in Springfield; and the Simpsons appear in a spoof of the Peanuts Halloween special.
It’s Election Day, 2008: People throughout town head to Springfield Elementary to cast their votes. Homer is so overweight that he’s pointed to a special “double-wide” voting booth. Once he’s inside Homer tries to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate; however, the machine records a vote for John McCain. Homer tries again and again to cast a vote for a Democrat, but the machine repeatedly records votes for McCain. Eventually the machine sucks up Homer, and spits out his dead body.
“How to Get Ahead in Dead-Vertising” — Marge and Homer drop off Maggie at a daycare center, telling her they’ll return in three hours. Hoping to make the baby feel comfortable, Homer points out Krusty’s familiar face. His crude likeness appears throughout the day care center. Suddenly the real Krusty appears, and instructs his goons to erase his unlicensed likeness. When Maggie begins to cry, Homer steps in and confronts Krusty, accidentally propelling him into a wood chipper. Later Krusty’s lawyer appears at the Simpson home. With Krusty dead, his likeness can be slapped on just about anything, and the actor doesn’t have to be paid. Krusty’s lawyer wants Homer to kill off more celebrities, so their likenesses can be exploited. The lawyer shows Homer footage of Frank Sinatra and Janis Joplin appearing in ads for breakfast foods. After he’s paid for his services, Homer kills off George Clooney, Prince, Neil Armstrong, and William Shatner. Meanwhile, in heaven, Krusty convinces dead celebrities that they can’t sit by while their images are exploited. John Wayne, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, John Lennon, and other furious angels descend on Homer. Krusty blows off Homer’s head using a shotgun. When the dead celebrities try returning to heaven, they discover that Homer has locked them out.
“Untitled Robot Parody” — Bart shops for a Christmas gift for Lisa. He searches through a store’s 99-cent bin, and eventually settles on a Transformers-like car that looks like Malibu Stacey’s convertible. On Christmas Day Lisa opens her present, and is shocked to discover that — for a change — it’s something nice. That night Lisa’s Malibu Stacey car transforms into a robot. It instructs other objects in Lisa’s bedroom, such as an alarm clock and desk lamp, to transform into robots as well. When Lisa awakens, they transform back into their original objects. Later Homer’s car transforms into a robot (while Homer is at the wheel). Homer ends up stuck inside the machine. Before long another giant robot appears, this one with Flanders sticking out of its rear. The two robots duke it out. As the robots prepare to wage a final battle, Marge asks why they’re mad at each other. The robots can’t answer, having forgotten why. With nothing else to do, the robots decide to enslave Earth.
“It’s the Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse” — In this spoof of the Peanuts Halloween special, Lisa accompanies Milhouse to a pumpkin patch for the appearance of the Grand Pumpkin, who brings candy to children who believe in him. Eventually Lisa gets fed up with waiting, and blames Milhouse for making her miss out on trick-or-treats. After Lisa storms off, the Grand Pumpkin appears. When the creature discovers that people disfigure and eat his kind, he goes on a rampage. After devouring Homer, the Grand Pumpkin attacks the Springfield Elementary Halloween dance, eating Willie and Nelson. With Milhouse’s help, Lisa conjures up Tom Turkey, who kills the Grand Pumpkin. When Tom Turkey finds out that people eat turkeys, he plots revenge.
