“Attack of the 50 Foot Eyesores”—A strange ionic disturbance brings to life gargantuan statues of popular advertising mascots. Homer steals an oversized donut from Lard Lad, the mascot of Colossal Donuts, and makes it a centerpiece in living room. But other giant icons, such as Professor Peanut and the Duff Cowboy, begin destroying Springfield bit by bit. Discovering a copyright notice in a footprint left behind by one of the mascots, Lisa tracks down the Van Brunt & Churchill Ad Agency, the company responsible for creating many of the characters. Mr. Van Brunt theorizes that if the townspeople stop paying attention to the monsters, they will lose their powers and become lifeless. With an assist from singer Paul Anka, Lisa spreads the word not to look at the monsters. Shortly thereafter, the mascots die.
“Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace”—Bart suffers a nightmare in which he is terrorized by Groundskeeper Willie. Shortly thereafter, Martin falls asleep during class and dies. When Lisa tells her parents about Milhouse, Marge recounts how Willie was inadvertently burned alive during a P.T.A. meeting. Willie’s skeletal corpse vowed revenge by making the parents pay with their children’s blood. Bart deliberately dozes off to fight Willie in his dreams. He is attacked by an enormous spider-like bagpipe monster with Willie’s face. Lisa falls asleep and is also grasped by the monster. Suddenly, Maggie appears within the dream, and using her pacifier, corks the monster’s blow-hole. The Willie-monster explodes into tiny bits of plaid.
“Homer 3 ”—While desperately trying to avoid Patty and Selma, Homer accidentally steps inside a third dimension, where his normally 2-D form becomes three-dimensional in appearance. Meanwhile, in the Simpsons’ living room, experts attempt to solve the mystery of the new dimension so Homer can be rescued. With time running out, Bart ties a rope around himself and leaps into the portal. But an enormous black hole envelopes the dimensional universe, sucking Homer into a vortex. Shortly thereafter, Homer appears on Ventura Boulevard... the most frightening dimension of them all.
