To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Homer takes Marge to the Tunnel of Love at a carnival. When Bart pulls a prank involving some Jell-O, they become stranded. Homer cheers Marge by recounting one of the greatest love stories of all time.
Homer’s story is set in rural Texas in 1933. The beautiful Bonnie Parker (Marge) is bored with life until she meets the local bad boy, Clyde Barrow (Homer). Bonnie dares Clyde to rob a nearby feed store, setting their tragic love story in motion. Before long Clyde realizes that Bonnie is aroused by senseless acts of violence. After the pair rob a bank, a clueless Flanders gives them a lift. Wiggum pursues the car, and a gunfight erupts. Before long Bonnie and Clyde’s exploits are the stuff of legend. When Flanders realizes the pair aren’t married, he turns them in to Chief Wiggum. Later Wiggum and his men gun down Bonnie and Clyde.
Next, Marge tells a romantic story about two dogs, Sadie (Marge) and Scamp (Homer), in a spoof of Lady and the Tramp. Scamp tricks Sadie into rescuing him from being run over by a streetcar. To show his “gratitude,” Scamp takes Sadie to dinner at Luigi’s restaurant; but their romantic meal is interrupted by the appearance of the health inspector. They spend the night together. Before long, Sadie realizes she’s pregnant. Scamp, however, has run off. Sadie gives birth to Bart and Lisa puppies, who end up in the dog pound. Scamp shows up at the pound, and attacks Willie the Dogcatcher. Scamp announces that he’s taking the pups home, and this time he’s staying. Later Sadie tells Scamp that she gave birth to nine other puppies.
Bart spins the final romantic tale. It’s the story of the Sex Pistols: Johnny Rotten (Bart) and Sid Vicious (Nelson). Nancy Spungeon (Lisa) enters the club where they’re playing, and falls for the rebellious Sid. Before long Sid and Nancy are hooked on chocolate. When Sid gains weight, Johnny Rotten warns that Nancy’s turning him into a “chunky.” Sid becomes so addicted to sweets that it affects his music. Johnny smashes a root-beer bottle over Sid’s head, prompting Nancy to declare that Sid’s quitting the band. Sid and Nancy’s attempt to form their own band is a disaster, but they still have each other. They take a big bite of chocolate, and kiss. Homer wishes everyone a happy Valentine’s Day.
