Col. Eleanor Grant enlists the help of former US Delta Force operative and serial lothario Damien Scott, to help identify Latif.

Back in London, the team is watching footage of Porter when he is executed live on TV. Scott decodes a message from one of Porter's hostage transmissions that warns of a terrorist plot known as Project Dawn, which the unit has been tracking for some time.

Strike-Back-Project-Dawn-Ep2-02Damian Scott

Grant negotiates with the Indian military to stop them raiding the hotel. They give her four hours.

Scott admits he had no idea what Latif looked like. He believes he was framed in Iraq when he was close uncovering information about Iraq's missing WMD.

Scott and Stonebridge discover that Zubedah, a British woman at the hotel, is a weapons scientist who Latif is trying to find. She says she knows what happened to the missing WMD. Suddenly she’s seized by the terrorists and taken down to the basement, while the captors await orders to detonate explosives.

The Indian army raids the hotel. Tear gas and bullets fly. After a tussle, the terrorists are killed before they can detonate the explosives, and the hostages are freed.

Major Ashkani drives away with Zubedah. The team realises too late that Ashkani is actually Latif, who has been under their noses all this time. Latif shoots Zubedah once he has the information he needs.

Strike Back: Project Dawn: Episode 3Stonebridge

Section 20, on the trail for Latif, has relocated to South Africa.

While tracking targets believed to be linked to Latif, Scott, Stonebridge and Marshall discover route maps of cash-in-transit vehicles.

Ruthless ex-IRA terrorist Daniel Connolly and his gang - Neve, Lynch and Teague – hijack a cash-in-transit van.

Using intelligence they find in the van, Connolly goes to the house of weapons designer Kenneth Bratton. They kidnap his family and Bratton says he will do whatever they want. Later, Bratton denies having any knowledge of Connolly when Section 20 interrogate him.

Meanwhile, Section 20 reviews the CCTV footage of the heist and Grant recognises Connolly.

Scott and Stonebridge intercept new gang member Buckley, who is planning to join Connolly. After shooting him, Scott picks up his ringing mobile and speaks to Teague, pretending to be Buckley.

Scott goes undercover as Buckley and infiltrates the gang but is shot with a tranquilizer dart. When he comes round, he has a bomb strapped to his chest.

Just as Stonebridge arrives on the scene, the bomb on Scott's chest explodes...

Episode 4

The dust settles revealing that Scott is alive. It turns out to have been a test and set to explode outwards. Convinced of his loyalty, Connolly challenges him to bypass a security system.

Bratton calls Marshall wanting to meet. At the rendezvous Connolly kidnaps Bratton and Marshall. Stonebridge follows.

Once Scott helps them gets past the security of the underground vault, Connolly decides he is no longer useful and tells Neve to kill him. Connolly enters the vault, steals a stockpile of WMD and shoots Bratton.

Stonebridge finds Scott. They surround Connolly who reveals Marshall – she's in a van with a bomb strapped to her. Connolly says if they let him go, he will disarm the bomb. The timer counts down and the bomb explodes, killing Marshall.

Latif gets a call saying that Connolly has failed. But he is told there is another stockpile of WMD elsewhere - plan B.

Scott, Stonebridge and Grant track down Connolly, walking on a beach. Grant shoots him in cold-blooded revenge for Marshall's death.

Episode 5

A Sudanese clinic is attacked by the Janjaweeds and Dr Clare Somersby and 11-year-old Nayim are captured by chieftain Tahir.

Meanwhile, Section 20 discovers an arms shipment headed for Sudan from global arms dealer Gerald Crawford, who Grant discovers supplied the explosives to Latif that killed Marshall.

Scott and Stonebridge arrest Crawford at a container yard. Crawford reveals Clare is his daughter and the arms are a ransom payment for her release. Grant agrees to help in return for his information on Latif but won't allow weapons to be used in the negotiation.

Crawford, Scott, Stonebridge and Sinclair head to Khartoum, with money to negotiate Clare's release. Scott meets up with ex-lover and journalist Maggie, who has noticed Crawford's mercenaries circling the hotel. They intercept two of the men and after a car chase, find rifles, handguns and grenades in their car.

The exchange takes place at a desolate country village. When Crawford admits he hasn't come with the weapons, Tahir cuts off Clare's ear. Mayhem ensues and Scott is shot trying to rescue Clare from Tahir, who escapes with her in his jeep.

Crawford and Stonebridge chase after Tahir and Clare, while Maggie and Sinclair rush Scott to the hospital.

Episode 6

Crawford tells Stonebridge that Latif has a spy at the top of western intelligence but won’t reveal the name until he has Clare back.

Grant arrives in Khartoum and manages to get Sinclair released but Scott remains under armed guard in the hospital.

Stonebridge and Crawford locate the Janjaweed camp, where Tahir is holding Clare. Mayhem ensues when another hostage steals a grenade. Stonebridge and Crawford corner Tahir who is using Clare as a shield. Tahir's about to kill Clare when he's stabbed from behind and then shot by Stonebridge.

Crawford and Clare are reunited – with Clare rejecting Crawford’s apologies – and they all escape in a jeep.

When the Janjaweed return to camp, they find Tahir alive. Enraged, Tahir departs with his men to track down Clare.

Back at the hospital, Grant tasers Scott's guard, finds out Stonebridge's location and threatens Crawford's mercenaries to tell her where their helicopter is.

In an exchange of bullets at a checkpoint, Crawford is shot in the lung. As they flee across the desert, Clare tries to perform emergency surgery in the jeep. The car is also hit, so they grind to a halt as the Janjaweed surround them.

Tahir is moving in for the kill when Grant arrives in the helicopter. With Tahir distracted, Stonebridge takes him out. Meanwhile, Crawford tells Clare the name of Latif’s spy, then dies.

Stonebridge returns home to his pregnant wife Kerry. Having saved Clare, Stonebridge is resolved with Kate’s ghost laid to rest and a child to look forward to.

Episode 7

Continuing on the trail of Latif, Section 20 has relocated to Austria where the team learns their next lead, an MI6 agent who is reportedly leaking intelligence to Latif, has been kidnapped in Kosovo by a notorious terrorist, Hasani.

The agent, along with other EU officials, is being held captive until Hasni’s cousin Rama is released from prison.

Stonebridge and Scott collect Rama and set off for Kosovo to return Rama in exchange for the hostages.

They head to the designated location deep in a forest to rescue the hostages. But when Rama is shot dead by an unknown force, gunfire ensues. Scott and Stonebridge fight off Hasani's men, eventually packing the hostages safely inside a jeep and escaping.

When they run out of fuel, they discover via satellite that there's a vehicle parked a few miles away next to a heroin processing plant. With no other options, they lead the hostages to the plant.

Hiding the hostages by a stream, Scott and Stonebridge fight off the guards at the plant as they make their way towards the vehicle. But a stray bullet hits the vehicle and it explodes leaving them stranded.

Strike Back Project Dawn Episode 8Scott and Stonebridge

Episode 8

Scott, Stonebridge and the hostages awake to find themselves in a military barrack. Allen claims he’s a double agent and that he's only been dealing with Latif to track his movements.

Hasani questions Scott and makes it clear that everyone will die except Dana, a young female hostage. Stonebridge and Scott are led outside to a refrigerator lorry and the realisation of their destiny hits them: the women are to be trafficked as sex slaves, the men are to have their organs harvested.

The lorry lurches to a halt and the boys are thrown a half-decomposed human head but inside is a gun and a note, revealing that a kidnapped civil servant called Mrs Heath is alive. They shoot the driver and Stonebridge leaves to find her.

The dying guard tells Scott where Allen and the female hostages are. Stonebridge returns with Mrs Heath and the group are briefly reunited before armed men appear. Stonebridge orders Scott and the hostages to take cover whilst he holds off the gunmen.

Scott and Mrs Heath arrive at the barracks where Allen and the girls have been taken. Hasani is inside his office awaiting an important visitor: Latif. Allen is brought to see Hasani and Latif and gives the infamous terrorist some secret information before being shot dead in return.

Scott kills a guard, steals his uniform and enters the barracks. His plan of attack is suddenly made easier by discovering a storeroom full of explosives. As he prepares a trail of explosives he locates the office where Allen lays dying. In his final breath, Allen reveals the name of the operation that set up Scott in 2003 - Trojan Horse - and that Latif is planning on using a WMD. Scott finds Dana and they make their escape.

Elsewhere, Stonebridge wakes up to find himself in an organ harvesting hospital but fights back from his weakened state, escapes and is reunited with Scott as they escape from Kosovo.

Strike Back: Project Dawn: Episode 9Stonebridge in the bunker

Episode 9

Section 20 has a lead on Latif, and Scott and Stonebridge are sent to a facility in Chechnya where Latif is rumoured to be. The guys charge into the building but a booby trap has been set up… Stonebridge locates a secret exit via a bunker which they dive into as the facility explodes.

Trapped underground, with no comms link to Section 20, Scott and Stonebridge discover tunnels leading to a chemical weapons' testing area with containers missing.

Scott and Stonebridge find the exit route out of the tunnels and see a vehicle leaving the site. Sinclair tracks the vehicle whilst Scott and Stonebridge quickly hotwire a car to follow.

Arriving outside an apartment in the town centre, Section 20 debates whether or not to raid the apartment for Latif. The decision is taken out of their hands when Scott and Stonebridge's cover is blown.

Chechen rebels start firing at Scott and Stonebridge who make a dash to safety, just as a Section 20 helicopter comes to their rescue.

Back in Vienna, Scott discovers that Grant has been secretly assessing him. He is on the verge of walking out for good but Stonebridge convinces him to reconsider. Stonebridge admits he too thinks something is rotten in Section 20, but he needs Scott's help with another mission - a raid on an abandoned clinic just north of Budapest.

Strike Back Project Dawn Episode 10: VideoStrike Back Project Dawn Episode 10: Video

Episode 10

Latif is finally in Section 20’s clutches and they need him to reveal the bombers’ target.

They get a lead that one terrorist is boarding a tram in Budapest and Scott and Stonebridge are sent to intervene. They board the tram but a passenger sees Scott’s gun and panics.

Hearing screams, the driver raises the alarm. Scott descends on the terrorist but not before he presses a button on his mobile phone to activate a 30 second countdown. Stonebridge picks up the briefcase but discovers it’s empty.

Desperate to find the bomb, Scott notices a growing red stain on the terrorist’s shirt. He realises that the bomb is stitched into the terrorist – a human bomb. Scott presses a button to close the doors as they run off the tram. Scott turns to see the terrorist explode…

Scott and Stonebridge await instructions from Section 20 but communication links to the command go down. Before they have a chance to question this, the answer becomes clear...Back at the command, Latif’s team have opened fire on the team.

Before Scott and Stonebridge come to the rescue, Richmond takes a bullet to her shoulder. Nursing her wound as she surveys the devastation, Richmond notices that Latif has gone, as has Grant…

The team conclude that the terrorist was travelling towards the castle, where a World Security Summit is being held. Sinclair orders Stonebridge to get over there whilst Scott is deployed to find Grant, whose location is revealed by a tracker placed on Latif.

Stonebridge arrives at the castle to find the gathering crowds behind a police cordon. Absorbed into them is the terrorist, who spots Stonebridge and grabs a pregnant lady. Stonebridge has no choice but to pull out his gun, firing shots into the panicked crowd and causing them to force their way past the police and escape.

Stonebridge appeals to the terrorist, who releases the woman and drops his phone as a Hungarian police marksman kills him. But Latif remotely activates the detonator on the mobile phone and a 30 second countdown appears.

Stonebridge cuts into the terrorist’s chest and pulls the bomb from his body. Sinclair shouts instructions over the comms to Stonebridge who frantically tries cancel the bomb. And as the counter on the mobile phone reaches 0, Stonebridge pulls the wire.

Meanwhile Scott makes his way to rescue Grant. Latif forces her to record a video message admitting to her involvement in a botched plan to plant weapons in Iraq to justify the invasion. Scott’s presence is eventually noticed by Latif’s henchman Usmanov. A fight ensues, resulting in Scott stabbing Usmanov in the back.

Latif sees Scott and raises a gun to Grant who takes a defiant step towards him and grabs his hands, pushing his gun into her chest where, unknown to Latif, she has planted a bomb in her pocket. Grant pulls the trigger and the resulting explosion kills them both.

In the epilogue of the series, Sinclair sits in Section 20 watching the video message left by Grant, in which she also recorded a message for her colleagues trying to explain the secrets that ruined her career and her life. A job in Section 20 comes with high risks and, in this instance, they got the better of her.
