Jodhi May has been acting since the age of 12. For her debut role in the film A World Apart, she won the Most Promising Newcomer award at the Evening Standard British Film Awards, and was named Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival. She then went on to star in Michael Mann's The Last Of The Mohicans.
Since graduating from Oxford University, Jodhi has built up an impressive body of work in film, television and theatre, including Stephen Poliakoff's Friends and Crocodiles; The Other Boleyn Girl, alongside Natasha McElhone and Jared Harris; Einstein and Eddington with David Tennant, Jim Broadbent and Andy Serkis; and an episode of Jimmy McGovern's The Street. Most recently, she starred in Blood And Oil for the BBC.
On the big screen, Jodhi has appeared in Defiance, and Flashbacks of a Fool, both alongside Daniel Craig; Nightwatching with Martin Freeman and Toby Jones; and Sister My Sister with Joely Richardson and Julie Walters, for which Jodhi won a best actress award at the Valladolid Film Festival.
Jodhi can currently be seen at the Donmar Warehouse in Jamie Lloyd's production of Mark Haddon's debut play, Polar Bears. Her other work on stage includes Chekhov's The Seagull; The Talking Cure, opposite Ralph Fiennes at the National Theatre; a French production of Caryl Churchill's Far Away; and David Harrower's Blackbird which won the 1997 Olivier award for best new play.
