"The first problem facing us...where on earth are they going to sleep?" Lt Cdr Rob Kitt, Weapon Engineer Officer on where Ross and the Tiger Aspect production crew will catch some shut eye during their time on aboard HMS Northumberland whilst making the Somalia programme on Pirates.
HMS Northumberland was very much at the heart of Operation Atlanta, the EU’s naval mission to escort humanitarian aid shipments and deter piracy in the region around Somalia.
HMS Northumberland's have kept a ship diary offering insight into life aboard a frigit during operations and their time spent with Ross Kemp:
"With a combined audience of many millions across the UK and beyond, this was an opportunity to let the British public see that the Royal Navy was indeed important and conducting vital operations, even if we were not always that visible over the horizon."
