2012 starts with a bang as Sky 1 HD’s hit US dramas Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS: Los Angeles return to screens for new seasons.
After the success of the first season, the investigations of Hawaii Five-O (an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police) explode back onto Sky 1 HD for what is set to be an even more action packed season than the first.
The opening episode of season two is as tense as the cliff hanger from season one’s finale. As McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) sits in prison awaiting trial for the murder of the governor, Danny brings him a surprise visitor to help clear his name. Meanwhile, Kono is suspended for the force, pending an internal investigation.
Also returning this January for a third season, NCIS: Los Angeles blazes back onto screens for its third run. No time is wasted as the comeback episode picks up immediately where the second season finale left off, in Romania, with Agents Callen (Chris O’Donnell), Hanna (LL Cool J) and the rest of the team searching for the diminutive Hetty (Linda Hunt).
O'Donnell said of the new season: "The first episode plays out in real time. In the second we're back on the clock, so to speak, and we look at what happened in those four months and the aftermath."
Refusing to answer questions if this premiere concludes with an almighty cliffhanger, executive producer Shane Brennan teases: "We lure the audience into a false sense of security and then smack them on the side of the head.”
Hawaii Five-O Season 2 and NCIS: Los Angeles Season 3 will begin on Sky 1 HD and Sky 1 in January 2012.
