Ross Kemp is on his most dangerous mission yet - In Search Of Pirates.

Ross and his documentary team embark on their next series of eye opening documentaries; searching for pirates off the coasts of Somalia, Nigeria and the seas of South East Asia.

Ross meets a Somali pirate; joins the crew of HMS Northumberland as it patrols the Gulf of Aden – the first time since 1816 that a Royal Navy ship has been sent on an anti-piracy mission; and tackles the questions not often explored in the media.

Ross Kemp comments; “We'd been thinking about doing a show on Pirates for over a year before the recent events we’ve seen in the news off the Somali coast. It's been far harder to get a story than it was for Gangs, and that was pretty hard. I think we've got three fascinating programmes, but this has been more difficult because it's not in the pirates interest to go on television or to explain their motives as to do so would reveal information to the authorities. I think it's fascinating. The news reports never really go in to the causes of piracy and I think we've come up with some very interesting reasons as to why it exists, how difficult it is to tackle, what do you do with pirates when you arrest them, where do you put them?

Ross Kemp shows what the worlds mariners face each and every day as well as explaining the causes of, and dispelling the myths surrounding one of modern day’s greatest political and criminal problems.
