Road Wars on Sky1Name: Roger Hocking

Call Sign: Oscar 43

Nickname: The Real Stig or Miss Daisy

Catchphrase: "I just need to tidy the boot!"

How long have you been in the Force? 12 and a half years in total and counting (I did 6 years in another force before transferring to Devon and Cornwall)

Why did you go into policing? To catch criminals and to help people in their time of need.

If you weren't a copper what job would you be doing?
Environmental Scientist or a Sergeant-Major in the Army.

What's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to on the job?
Having a chat with another officer whilst in the urinals at Headquarters only to find out later that he was the Superintendent chairing my transferees' selection panel.

What's the toughest thing you've had to deal with while on The Road Crime Unit?
Learning to drive to the standards of a traffic officer after driving a desk for so long as a detective. I have still got a long way to go to be as good as Mike!

What was it like being filmed every day? I got used to it eventually - Elliott (the cameraman) even helped to wash the car once! You forget that the cameramen are there after a while - especially Rohan, because I drove off leaving him standing on the side of a dual carriageway after a pursuit.

Are you a fan of police shows? I think most Police Officers secretly are - we are very good at criticising each other - "I wouldn't have done it that way!"

If you won the lottery, what car would you buy? Either a Range Rover Sport or a Challenger 2 main battle tank - I would like to see the criminals arguing with me in one of those.
