“GET UP (get on up) / I said GET UP (get on up) / Stay on the scene (get on up) / Like a… Geeky Tom!?” Yes, this was the week that our boy GT got a wee bit flustered with the lovely ladies from Lost…
First of all, apologies for the lateness of my Blog this week – there’s a very VERY good reason for it, but I’ll come to that in a minute…
Recon. A reference to a con, surely? Or a con re-done? Reconnaissance? Or reconstituted DHARMA food? Maybe Sawyer chomping down on some powdery soup was cut huh? But what an episode. Loved the flash-sideways connecting themes to the island saga, and Josh Holloway was on his usual top-form. Sawyer fans should definitely keep an ear to the ground for when his new film Stay Cool gets its UK release date – it looks fantastic.
But it wasn’t really the twisty-turny plot of Recon that made watching it so memorable… what did, was watching it sat next to a very hormonal GT. As you witnessed on the show, he enjoyed this episode very, very much, mainly due to the array of stunning actresses being in various states of undress. In fact, I’m convinced that if Iain and me and pressed him for lots of specific details about the episode, he would’ve just drifted off mumbling “Chhhhhharlotte…”
There have been some very sexy moments on Lost over the years, and in fairness to Tom’s enthusiasm, it was indeed a pretty hot episode. All I promise is that, if there’s another similarly racy episode this season, rather than walk straight onto the set and record TLI, we’ll sensibly give it a good hour for GT to calm down (maybe by subjecting him to some Last of the Summer Wine re-runs)… Bless him.
So, once again, sorry for the delay of this week’s random PT thoughts, but, as some of you know (huge thanks for the messages and emails), I am co-writing the official Lost Encyclopedia with co-author and all-around awesome lady, Tara Bennett. My eyes have been red-raw from spending far too much time sat at my laptop recently, powering through to meet deadlines, hence this Blog arriving a few days late. But as promised, I will answer the main questions that have been messaged to me repeatedly: 1) Yes, it is completely and utterly official: we’re writing it with full collaboration of the Lost producers/writers/creative team, and ABC Television – this book will be the official final word on the show. And 2) No, I don’t know what’s coming up/how it all ends. Once I’ve watched a season six episode with Iain and Tom, then and only then can I make season six notes about what I just watched for the book. Hope that clears things up, and thanks again for the whoops of congratulations that have been sent to me. It’s a mountain, folks. But then, it’s a mountain we’re creating with the producers of Lost and the network, so bring on the rock(s)!
On a final note, was it just me, or did Iain look a bit peaky on the Theory Battle this week? I think he might need some vitamin C. I’ll dig out some more oranges…
