Eleven year old Dylan Ward is a very special recipient of this year’s Noel’s Christmas Presents.
After losing his grandfather to cancer in 2009, he has dedicated his time to raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting his own local art exhibitions. Through the sale of his paintings in the local area, he has raised £3000. He also makes hundreds of arts & crafts boxes called ‘Wonder Boxes’ and donates them to children in hospitals across Tyne & Wear.
Since Dylan has always shown so much kindness to others, Noel’s Christmas Presents decided he deserved the ultimate penguin encounter and treated him to a trip to South Africa. After seeing penguins in the wild at Boulder’s Beach, he then visited SANCCOB, the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds where he was able to learn about their rehabilitation programme for rescued African penguins and other coastal birds.
