On 15th September 2007 Andrea Thompson’s son Jordan died aged just 15, after a 19 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
Throughout his treatment, Jordan raised money for other teenagers like himself who were suffering with cancer and receiving treatment at Newcastle’s RVI hospital; he was such a passionate and caring young man.
After his death Andrea launched the Jordan David Thompson Memorial Fund (toma fund). She originally ran the charity alongside a national children’s cancer charity; but in June this year, the toma fund became an independent registered charity, broadening its aims to help young cancer sufferers between the ages of 0-24.
