Walid should be shedding more regularly and properly. Sadly he can’t shed fully and subsequently he’s got dry patches and scarred skin. Richard and Kim have lots of reptile experience but this problem has them stumped.
Marc finds out during his consultation at the Pet Shame Clinic, that to date they’ve tried aloe vera juice and an antibacterial cream but to no avail. Diagnosing a moisture retention problem Marc recommends that they bathe Walid and use olive oil and a lubricating jelly to hydrate his skin and lock in the moisture.
At home Walid gets the full spa treatment, starting with a warm bath and followed by a thorough rub down with olive oil and finished with a lubricating jelly massage. Richard and Kim persevere with the treatments for around a month and are completely delighted and surprised with the results after one particular bath session results in some sizeable shedding of large pieces of skin, the likes of which they haven’t experienced for at least two years.
