The last semi final went out with a bang – Missing Andy and Hero are through to Wembley and are storming the iTunes charts.
It's been a journey full of intense celebrations and tearful goodbyes - but we’ve now come to the end of our cracking semi-finals and have six astounding acts to take with us to the grand finale. In the most nerve-racking show yet, Missing Andy, Kyan, Toxic Funk Berry, Hero and CK Gospel Choir were the last of our 15 semi-finalists to perform live in a bid to win your vote – and after some spectacular performances, two of them became the final pieces of our unbeatable Wembley Arena lineup…
First to take to the stage were brit pop rock boys Missing Andy, who, after impressing the masses at their audition with hit song The Way We're Made (This Is England), had to pull out all the stops for the performance of their new track, Sing For The Deaf. Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed by you or the judges – the superstar trio awarded the lads three yeses and you at home put them through to the final.
Next up was pianist and singer Kyan who won judge Jamie over with his first-class audition. Aiming to please again, Kyan gave it his all when he performed his new self-penned track Singing In The Rain. Although Jamie wasn’t impressed as he was first time round, Kyan still received three yeses from the judges – but didn’t manage to clinch a place in the final.
Then it was the turn of Toxic Funk Berry who, to quote Mr. Dizzeee Rascal, went 'hard' with their new track Day & Night. Despite giving it their all on stage, the judges felt alienated by their performance and the band received the dreaded three no’s. You at home agreed with their decision and the lads didn’t make it through to the final.
11-year-old harpist Hero followed, sticking with her self-written track Swept Away that won over the judges at her audition. It was a wise decision; the judges and you at home loved her performance and Hero won a place at Wembley.
Last to perform were the largest group of the night, 15-strong CK Gospel Choir, who lifted spirits with their lively rendition of the Bill Withers classic, Lovely Day. Despite their best efforts, the judges felt it wasn’t good enough for Wembley and pushed their no buttons in unison for the second time of the evening. You at home agreed and the group were forced to kiss their Wembley dream goodbye.
Make sure you tune in next Sunday at 7pm when Missing Andy and Hero will be joining Pepper & Piano, Diathi, The Pictures and Emma’s Imagination on stage at Wembley Arena to battle it for that life changing £100,000. As well as crowning our winner, the Must Be The Music final will also be host to performances from superstar judges Dizzee Rascal, Sharleen Spiteri and Jamie Cullum – trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
