Having already performed in front of 2000 people at Fashion Wales Live and being the support for MC Skepta on stage, five man deep grime group Flow Dem have had a glimpse of how far their talent can take them. Using Dizzee Rascal, Chipmunk and Ludacris as their measuring stick, the lads aim to be an inspiration to all youngsters like them.

To be as big as Chipmunk and alleviate their mum’s from paying their bills.
Flow Dem came to life a year ago, when mates Anton, Mason, and Raymond met fellow rapper Carvell. Through the local youth centre, Urban Circle, they worked with singer/songwriter Michael. It was here that they were also introduced to project co-ordinator Dennis, who now acts as the manager for the group.
The boys have all been into grime since before they can remember. Raymond has family members in the scene; his uncle and cousin are local MC’s. Carvell was also introduced by a family member; his cousin would write and perform lyrics while Carvell filmed him – but the cameraman soon put pen to paper and went in seek of the limelight himself.
In the last year the lads have managed to add Fashion Wales Live (the Welsh version of Fashion Rocks), winning a European competition with a taped performance and supporting King of Grime Skepta on stage to their achievements. Let’s see what the next year will bring…
