Our very own smash hit comedy series Modern Family caps off a phenomenally successful first season with no less than 14 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Cementing its reputation as one of the best comedies on TV today – A perfect build up for its unmissable return to Sky1 HD for a second season in October this year.
In addition to its Peabody Award and Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations from earlier in the year, Modern Family's Primetime Emmy Award nominations include Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, the writers behind Frasier. Ty Burrell (Phil), Eric Stonestreet (Cameron) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell) were all recognised in the Supporting Actor category, as were Sofia Vergara (Gloria) and Julie Bowen (Claire) as Supporting Actresses.
The awards take place on the 29th of August, we'll keep you updated on how well they do.
In the mean time, let us know how eagerly you're awaiting the show's return to your screens by dropping us a few Tweets or post us a message on Facebook.
