Hardcore Lost fans are seeking to turn a marathon viewing session into a world record.
In what will be the first public TV marathon in the UK, dedicated Lost fans are to watch all 121 episodes of the popular US series back to back at London's Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square, hoping to break the world record for the longest continuous cinema sitting.
While the event is free to attend, and interest high, only the first 280 people through the doors at 10am, Monday the 13th of September will be eligible to claim their place in history, as well as a Lost goody bag chocked with merchandise for their efforts. This also coincides with the Blu-Ray and DVD release of Lost The Final Season on the same day.
The event is set to take over 80 hours to complete, so prospective record breakers are being advised to think like the onscreen islanders and scrabble together their own survival packs of sleeping bags, pillows and ration supplies. However, unlike the desert island unfortunates, should the ordeal get to be too much, paramedics will be on hand to deal with any casualties of the Dharma Initiative. Plus a promise of "regulated breaks" to reduce the need for a catheter bag!
Talking about the record attempt, Gregory Lynn, director of the Prince Charles Cinema, said: "We're thrilled to be hosting such an exciting event and look forward to keeping our cinema running all day and all night, for as long as it takes."
