Abduct Me We're approaching the halfway point in this intriguing new series, but journalist and TV presenter Chris Bell has yet to fulfil his dream of getting abducted by aliens.  I've given him some pointers, he's met some abductees and he's even been hypnotically regressed to see if he's already been abducted, but it's all been to no avail.  I think we need a radical new approach.  Chris visits abductee Trevor Wooding and his friend Lars, a former NASA engineer.  Trevor explains that his father had a UFO encounter in 1971 in nearby woods, where an object hovered over his head.  Trevor started walking his dogs in the area, but it turned out to be a radiation hotspot and three dogs died of cancer.  Trevor also stated that he was abducted and taken up in a cone of light, while driving his Land Rover on the A12.  He says that he was abducted and put back several times, because the aliens have "a sense of humour".  Trevor tells Chris that the alien concerned is called Zaphos and then Chris notices something strange: Trevor's voice has slowed down and is a little deeper.  That's when the bombshell is dropped, as the voice explains that Zaphos has 'come through' somehow and is speaking through Trevor.  He explains that he comes from the Orion galaxy, which is slightly odd, as Orion is actualy a constellation, not a galaxy - maybe something was lost in translation.  Chris, Trevor and Lars decide to drive to a spot near where Trevor's father had his encounter.  Trevor and Lars take a Geiger counter, while Chris dons a reflective jacket and takes a torch, so any passing aliens can't fail to notice him.  To further increase their chances, they stand under some power lines - some UFO researchers have linked power lines with the alien abduction phenomenon.  Chris turns his torch on and off a few times and then there's some excitement, as he remarks that it seems only a moment ago that it was 9.40pm - and now it's 11.15pm!  So-called "missing time" is an oft-reported sign of alien abduction.  Sadly, it turns out to be another false alarm, as Chris has misread his watch and it's only 10.15pm.  Although Lars sees a flashing light at one point in this episode, while the Geiger counter beeps a couple of times, Chris hasn't yet fulfilled his quest.  That said, if Chris has really been conversing with an alien, that's not a bad achievement in itself.
