It’s the summer of 1959 and the students of Rydell High School are about to have an unforgettable year.
Super-cool Danny Zucko, the leader of the T-Birds is reunited with his boy gang. On the other side of the classroom is the girl-clique - the rebellious Pink Ladies. Sassy and sexy, they are interested in boys, music and make up. They are also curious about Sandy, the new girl. She’s beautiful but she’s a square. They want to know all about her summer romance with a mysterious stud.
When they find out it’s hotshot Danny Zucko they can barely believe their ears. They decide to reunite the pair neither of whom realise that they at the same school.
Danny has bragged about his summer romance exploits with the boys. When he unexpectedly meets Sandy in front of his friends he’s overcome with embarrassment. She completely ruins his image and he brushes her off.
Heartbroken, Sandy is cheered up slightly when Frenchy and Marty from the Pink Ladies include her in a sleepover. Rebellious Rizzo, the leader of the clique, is less impressed by the goody two shoes and shuns her, leaving her bereft again. Even joining the cheerleading squad doesn’t help boost her street cred.
Back in a garage with the boys, Kenickie shows off his pride and joy to the T-Birds. He’s spent his summer working to save money to buy the heap of metal which he’s convinced will be a natural babe-magnet. They can’t wait to cruise the town in ‘Greased Lightning’.
As time goes on, Danny tries to make amends but after an incident at High School Prom night, there is more patching up to be done. Will the love-struck pair ever overcome their differences?
