Unity UK are led by Tashan Muir, who also teaches series one semi-finalists Unity Youth. This time he's entered his senior crew which includes himself, plus Athena, Tia, Lydia and Ellice from Unity Youth and seven other members.
Unity UK are determined to get to the final so that Tashan can show what he believes are the “two sides of hip-hop”. On one side is the hard, aggressive, high impact routine more commonly associated with the genre; the other is what he describes as “underground hip-hop”, which is a more emotional performance.
The group are very proud of their East London roots and try to convey this vibe through their routines. They describe Tashan as creative and experimental, and they all admire his choreography and ability to lead the group, even though he admits to crying at Eastenders.
