GOT TO DANCE VOTING INFORMATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The 'Got to Dance' semi-finals and live final will rely entirely on the public vote. There is no judges' vote. They will however provide a critique following each performance.
However, in the event of a technical failure or for any other reason beyond Sky or Shine TV/Princess's reasonable control that means that public vote results cannot be obtained and/or there is a tie, the Judges will decide on the result and their decision is final.
SEMI-FINALS
During the 'Got to Dance 2012' live semi-finals (Sunday 29th January 2012, Sunday 5th February 2012, Sunday 12th February 2012, Sunday 19th February 2012 and Sunday 26th February 2012), there will be six acts each week who will perform and compete hoping to secure two of ten places in the live final to become the 'Got to Dance' winner 2012. Each week of the semi-finals, the voting lines will open after all the acts have performed. An announcement will be made on the live show to let the public know when the voting lines are open. The public will then have the opportunity to vote for their favourite act. Later in the show, the results of the public vote will be given and the two acts with the highest number of votes will go through to the final.
In the very unlikely event of a technical failure or other such event beyond Sky or Shine TV/Princess's reasonable control that means that it is not possible to obtain the results of the public vote and/or the public vote results in a tie, the Judges will decide which act(s) go(es) through to the live final. In the very unlikely event of this happening this will be made clear to viewers at the time.
After the voting lines have closed, the viewers' votes will be collated and independently verified. The acts will be ranked based on the total number of viewers' votes received. Viewers will be informed when the voting lines have closed and any votes made after this time will not be counted and may still be charged for.
In each live semi-final the two acts with the highest number of viewers' votes will go through to the live final - notwithstanding any contingency procedure or technical failure.
FINAL
For the live final on Sunday 4th March 2012, the ten finalists chosen by the public from the semi-finals (as outlined above) will perform again. After they have all performed, an announcement will be made to let the public know that voting lines are open. The public will then vote for the act that they would like to win 'Got to Dance' 2012
The phone lines for the public vote, along with the App and Red Button voting, will initially be open for a limited period only and the viewers will be informed on air when voting has been frozen. The results of the public vote at the time of lines being frozen will be announced and the seven finalists with the least public votes will be eliminated from the competition.
The three remaining finalists will then dance again. After this, an on-air announcement will be given to inform viewers that voting lines are no longer frozen and have reopened in relation to the three remaining acts only.
For the avoidance of doubt all votes received by the three acts going through to the second stage of voting, prior to the lines being frozen, are carried forward. This information will be communicated clearly to the viewers.
After the voting lines have closed for the second and final time, the viewers' votes will be collated and independently verified. The three remaining acts will be ranked based on the total number of viewers' votes received. Viewers will be informed when the voting lines have closed and any votes made after this time will not be counted and may still be charged for. The act with the highest number of viewer votes wins Got to Dance 2012- notwithstanding any contingency procedure or technical failure.
In the very unlikely event of a technical failure or other such event beyond Sky or Shine TV/Princess's reasonable control that means that it is not possible to obtain the results of the public vote and/or the public vote results in a tie, the Judges will decide which act is the winner of Got to Dance 2012. In the very unlikely event of this happening this will be made clear to viewers at the time.
For the avoidance of doubt, the live final will also be transmitted on Sky 3D, and voting via the red button will not be available on the 3D platform. This will be made clear to the viewers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - PHONE VOTE
Q: Why have I have been charged more than 5p (UK) or 7c (ROI)?
YOU MAY NOT BE CALLING FROM A BT LANDLINE OR YOU MAY BE USING YOUR MOBILE PHONE, IN WHICH CASE THE CHARGE FOR YOUR VOTE MAY BE HIGHER
Q: I was trying to call for (act) and got (act) instead.
All voters are asked to be sure of the correct number and to dial carefully to register their vote.
Sky, Shine TV/Princess and the telephony service provider have implemented a thorough testing schedule to ensure the voting lines are correct.
Q: I have been trying to vote, but keep getting the engaged tone.
The phone lines are very active throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands when the vote window opens, some callers may experience the engaged tone - especially those in rural/remote areas. We recommend that you call back within a couple of minutes when the traffic through your local exchange may have subsided. Engaged tones are controlled at local telephone exchanges and are something that the Sky, Shine TV and Princess and the telephony service provider cannot control.
Q: I tried voting, but couldn't get through. Why?
Given the high volume of viewers and callers that some TV voting shows generate, it is possible for a very large number of people to pick up the phone simultaneously when the on-screen announcement is made. Sometimes this can cause some callers to get an engaged tone for short periods of time immediately after an on-screen announcement; however, any congestion tends to clear quite quickly.
Q: I voted but was later told that the public vote (or a section of the public vote that includes by vote) would not be counted. Will I be refunded?
All requests for refunds will be investigated and handled on a case by case basis. If you vote during the prescribed voting window as advertised (and unamended) and subsequently your vote is not counted you will be entitled to a refund.
Q: When I call I am being told that the network is busy or unavailable.
If you hear messages informing you that the network is busy or unavailable, this means that your own network is unable to process the amount of calls at that moment, or that the local exchange is busy. This is not controlled by Sky or Shine TV/Princess and you should contact your network provider for further information.
Q: Can one act (s) number be constantly engaged and another act (s) free?
Like all the big shows, Got to Dance uses a voting system where at least the first eight digits of the phone numbers are the same for all contestants, with only the last few digits of the phone number changing depending on who you want to vote for.
As the telephone network only uses the first eight digits in a telephone number to route calls to the voting system, it is impossible for calls for different acts to be treated differently.
Once calls reach the voting system they are answered in turn, on a first-come, first-served basis. Each answering point is instructed to accept votes for all acts; there are no dedicated answering points for each act.
This means that your chance of getting through to vote will never depend on the act(s) you wish to vote for.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - iPHONE APP VOTE

Yes. Unused credits can be carried across to the next weeks’ show but all credits must be used in the Got to Dance 2012 Final or your vote credits will be lost.
Q. Can I get a refund for any votes that I do not use after purchasing?

Q. Why do you have to buy 14 votes in one bundle?
The minimum transaction purchase price is 69p in the UK and 79c in the Republic Of Ireland, using the ITunes payment system, and means that votes cost less than 5p/6c respectively.
Q. I tried to top up just before the live vote but I could not, why not?
We switch off the top up facility approximately 10 minutes before the live vote.
