An interview with Goliath:

How much of a Gladiators fan are you?
I've been an avid fan since I was a child. Gladiators was a Saturday night event in my house, a sit-down with the family discussing what Gladiator you'd like to be. It was a routine that I really looked forward. I was devastated when it left the air.

What can we expect from Goliath?
Goliath is dominating and powerful. He'll punish anything that gets in his way.

Who is your favourite Gladiator and why?
I've had a few. I had this love/hate relationship with Wolf. But I had so much respect for the big guys like Warrior and Shadow, they had a real presence.

What is your favourite event and why?
I'm enjoying all the physical ones, like Duel, Gauntlet, Powerball, Earthquake and Suspension Bridge. So quite a few! I want to dominate all the contact games.

Have you been welcomed into the fold by the Gladiators?
All the old guys have helped us settle in, giving us tips on the games and everything. As cheesy as it sounds, we're one big family. It's such a laugh.

What will you bring to the show?
A physical presence, because I'm the tallest and heaviest of all the Gladiators. The Contenders are definitely going to be in my shadow.

What qualities do you need to be a Gladiator?
Aside from physical fitness, you need a little bit of charisma, showmanship and star quality. It's all well and good being the biggest and the fittest, but you need that something special to separate you.

How do you feel about the Big Bad Wolf's return to his former hunting ground?
It's certainly going to be interesting to see what he brings to the table. It's going to be fun.

Have you got any words of warning for the Contenders?
Prepare to be crushed.

What animal would you be?
A tiger, because it's big, strong and powerful, all the qualities I possess.
