tc_08Steve Pemberton began acting professionally after graduating from Bretton Hall College with a BA in Theatre Arts. With a career encompassing both writing and performing, he is most famous as a member of The League Of Gentlemen, along with his fellow writers and actors Reece Shearsmith, Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson. The award-winning sketch show was first broadcast in 1999 and garnered considerable critical praise, which lead to a further two series, three live theatre productions, one cinematic release and multiple awards.

Away from Royston Vasey, Pemberton has starred in a variety of comedy series, including Blackpool and Benidorm, as well as dramas Death On The Nile, The Old Curiosity Shop and Whitechapel. In 2009, Pemberton reunited with Shearsmith to write and star in the comedy thriller Psychoville. The series won the 2009 British Comedy Award for best new British TV comedy and has been re-commissioned for a second series.

Pemberton was previously a contributor to Variety and was the assistant editor on International Film Guide.
