Ian Bonar trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Since graduating he has had roles in a number of high-profile films and televisions series, most notably, the Oscar®-nominated Atonement.
In 2006, Bonar had a recurring role in the hit BBC drama Hotel Babylon, alongside Max Beesley and Tamzin Outhwaite. In 2008, he starred as Stevie in the independent British film 1234, about the dream of music superstardom versus the realities of life. Part financed by Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien, 1234 was released earlier this year as part of the New British Cinema Quarterly project and received critical praise.
In 2011, Bonar will be seen in the Steven Spielberg-directed Adventures of Tintin, alongside Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell and Simon Pegg.
