At the whistle, Contenders have to run from one platform to the other across a suspension bridge (over water). To score points, the Contender must run to the opposite end of the platform and press a lit buzzer. The Gladiator will attempt to dislodge the Contender by swinging large demolition balls across the bridge and knocking the Contender into the water, thereby ending the game.  Note: The contender can only score if the buzzer is still lit by the time they cross to the other site.  Men get 7 seconds to cross the bridge; women get 8 seconds.  This rule is meant to discourage stalling by the contenders.  Contenders must not deliberately touch, re-direct or hold the demolition balls with their hands – or they will be disqualified.

Scoring:

2 points will be awarded for each successful crossing which ends with the ‘buzzer’ being pressed within the time restriction.
