A Contender has 30 seconds to run through a narrow corridor that is being guarded by 4 Gladiators, each armed with a ramrod or pads. The 1st Gladiator must start on the line at the back of their 'zone' and wait for the whistle before moving forward. The remaining Gladiators can only start moving forward from their starting position when the Contender has cleared the previous Gladiators 'zone'. If the Contender comes out of the Gauntlet (e.g. over the side of the corridor), the game is immediately stopped. The game is then restarted with the remaining time left, at the beginning of the zone where the Contender went out and they will face that same Gladiator again. The contender must break through the finish line blocks to complete the event.
Scoring:
Contenders earn 2 points per Gladiator 'zone' they pass (with their whole body clear by the time the whistle blows) and 2 points for breaking through the finish line. The total amount of points a Contender can score on this event is 10.
Trivia:
* Gauntlet was introduced in the 4th series of the original Gladiators, and the time limit was 25 seconds.
* There were originally 5 Gladiators in the Gauntlet.
