The family is greeted upon their arrival by Tony Blair...\r\n ...and they later meet \"Harry Potter\" writer JK Rowling (according to an interview with producer Al Jean, Rowling recorded her lines via satellite at her home in Scotland)...\r\n ...as well as Sir Ian McKellan.\r\n In a subplot of \"The Regina Monologues,\" Grandpa Simpson searches for his long lost love Edwina, played by Frasier star Jane Leeves.\r\n Sting appeared in the 3rd season episode \"Radio Bart,\" as himself - he sings a charity single called \"We're Sending Our Love Down the Well.\"\r\n Sir Elton John appeared in the Season 10 episode \"I'm With Cupid,\" where he performs a private concert for Apu and his wife.\r\n In the Season 14 episode \"How I Spent My Strummer Vacation,\" Homer visits a Rock 'n' Roll fantasy camp and is introduced to such music legends as Elvis Costello (seen here with singer/songwriter Jenny Lewis)...\r\n ...as well as Mick Jagger...\r\n ...and Keith Richards.\r\n Tracy Ullman appears in the Season 2 episode \"Bart's Dog Gets an F.\" This cameo was significant because \"The Simpsons\" began as a series of minute-long short cartoons that aired on \"The Tracy Ullman Show\" beginning in 1987.\r\n Eric Idle has appeared in multiple episodes as documentary filmmaker Declan Desmond, who created such memorable titles as Do You Want Lies with That?, American Boneheads: A Day In The Life Of Springfield Elementary, Growing Up Springfield, and Ain't No Mountain: A Blind Man Climbs Everest.\r\n The Moody Blues appeared in the Season 10 episode \"Viva Ned Flanders\" as themselves, performing in a Las Vegas casino.\r\n Andy Serkis parodied his work as Gollum in the \"Lord of the Rings\" films in the Season 14 episode \"Dude, Where's My Ranch?\"\r\n Ringo Starr was in the Season 2 episode \"Brush With Greatness.\" In the episode, he finally replies, after decades, to an old piece of fanmail that Marge sent him.\r\n Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney appeared in the Season 7 episode \"Lisa the Vegetarianism\" to promote the vegetarian lifestyle (in the episode, Lisa decides to give up eating meat). Entertainment Weekly magazine reported that McCartney only agreed to appear as long as Lisa would remain a vegetarian for the remainder of the series, and the producers agreed. (McCartney was the third Beatle to appear on the show - George Harrison appeared in the Season 5 episode \"Homer's Barbershop Quartet.\").\r\n Patrick McGoohan parodied his most famous role as \"Number 6\" in the Season 12 episode \"The Computer Wore Menace Shoes.\"\r\n The Who appeared in the Season 12 episode \"A Tale of Two Springfields.\" Roger Daltrey and John Entwisle appear, but, according to VH1, Pete Townsend's lines were voice by his brother Paul, for reasons unknown.
