Hello, I'm Emma Barnett (often just called Barnett by everyone around me). Originally born and bred in Manchester, I now love living and working as a writer and broadcaster in London - while remaining true to my northern roots.
I am the Digital Media Editor at the Daily Telegraph and was thrilled to have been named Digital Journalist of the Year by both the Association of Online Publishers and Press Association's Online Journalism awards last year.
I write about all forms of media, including TV, radio, social networks, the music industry, and the latest innovations to come out of Silicon Valley. I also pen a monthly column in The Sunday Telegraph's 'ThinkTank' section in which I analyse what the latest technology and digital media trends mean.
Every Sunday I present LBC's drive-time show, in which I tackle the biggest news stories of the day, grilling high-profile guests and getting Londoners involved in some amazing debates. I am also working on a new Radio 4 documentary about how much control we have over our identity in the internet age - an issue I feel really strongly about.
I regularly commentate on media, technology, women's issues and culture for BBC Three, Channel Five, BBC Radio 4, BBC Five Live, BBC World Service, Sky News, CNN and ABC News.
And in between all of that I tweet...a lot. Last year I was voted the ninth most influential British journalist on Twitter - so give me a follow on @emmabarnett and let's have a chat!
