 An interview with Atlas:

What lessons have you learnt from season one?
Not to underestimate any Contender. As soon as the whistle blows, you have to go in full-on, you can't afford to wait around to see what they're made of. I think we made this mistake in the first season and were hesitant of using full force. Essentially, all the Gladiators need to stamp out any form of anxiety. Aside from that, I've learnt a lot of things about the events themselves, especially in terms of the technique I should use to tackle them.

What can we expect from Atlas in season two?
I'm going to be brutal this time around, there's not going to be any holding back. I went away this summer and did some sprint training, so I should be more agile. The Contenders can expect to be hit harder and faster.

What was your favourite moment from season one and why?
It has to be the Legends show, it was just surreal to see all the old favourites back in Spandex and ready to battle.

How do you feel about the Big Bad Wolf's return to his former hunting ground?
I won't say I'm excited, but it's definitely going to be interesting. I think the character that he created in the original series was incredible. It'll be intriguing to see how the show evolves.

Are you glad to be donning your spandex suit once again?
I didn't get the chance to miss it, because I took it with me and wore it everyday in the privacy of my own home! On a serious note, it's good to be back, although I did forget how tight the costume is!

Have you welcomed the new Gladiators into the fold?
I have indeed. Everyone gets on and we've all become good friends. There's a friendly competitiveness and rivalry that pushes you to perform to the best of your abilities.

What challenges will you be facing in season two?
The new events, but they look like such good fun. I think my speciality will be Suspension Bridge, because it's a brutal combination of Duel and Gauntlet. I think it'll end up being up there with all the old favourites.

How has Gladiators changed your life?
I have to think about everything I do outside of the Gladiators universe, whereas before I didn't have to worry. There's a certain responsibility that comes with being a role model, and it's one that I'm not taking lightly. You have to consider your actions and just take a minute to think, is this going to look okay? It's interesting and adds a new dimension to life. Overall though, the whole Gladiators journey has been so much fun.
