It seems like only yesterday that Sky1 took the kids of Kingsmead School in North London and set them the ultimate challenge, to perform 'Hairspray: The School Musical' on a West End stage……with only weeks to rehearse! The journey was tough but Sadeet, Francessco and the cast pulled of a polished performance against all the odds and wowed the crowd in London’s West End.

School Musical returns this August with new host Duncan James, a new hit West End musical, and a new school. Returning to help Duncan in his mission to transform our budding starlets are vocal coach Zoe Tyler and choreographer Stacey Haynes. They will put the kids through their paces with an intensive rehearsal schedule.

This year the judges have the added of task of shortlisting three schools from literally hundreds of applications to take part in the School Musical sing-off. The stakes are high and competition is fierce as each school battles to win the once in a lifetime opportunity. When the difficult decision has been made the band of students from the winning school will get the chance to perform in a famous West End theatre.

The transformation from school pupil to starlet will be exciting, fraught and emotional. With a musical to memorise and delicate dance moves to perfect the kids will need to give it their all to impress our judges. 

The pace is set as they need to get it together to deliver the performance of their lives, in front of an audience of hundreds. The clock is ticking and the pressure is on. Will they be able to do it in time?
