These 13 ballet dancers from Glasgow have one man to thank for their success - choreographer Robert was a West End star but came home to Scotland to pass on the opportunities to dance he had to young hopefuls.

Gangs

The Box dancers come from all around Glasgow to attend Robert's classes, and their parents credit the group with keeping some of the kids out of gangs. Most of the dancers come from Clydebank and Kingspark, but for Becky and her mum who come from the East side of Glasgow The Box is essential.

They say the routine is great and that dancing keeps her away from gangs on the Estate, much to her mum Leanne's relief.

As the children come from all over Glasgow it is a way for them to meet people and make friends outside of school, bringing different communities together.

Role Model

Robert also helps provide a stable and respected male role model for the kids in the group, something which can be rare on the estates.

Robert put The Box together as a group especially for Got To Dance just a few days before the audition. The children in The Box are all students at Robert's dance school Dance Point.  The thirteen are: Michelle (15), Stephanie (14), Kayleigh (13), Becky (12), Nicole (12), Ryan (12), Taylor (10) Kiera (10), Ellie (9), Sky (9), Josh (9), Jay (8) and Holly (7).

Currently dancing in an old night club with carpets on the floor and no mirrors, The Box would spend their £100,000 prize money on a new studio for the whole Dance Point shcool.
