Matthew loves to dance, but he still has to prove to his parents he is good enough. He has been dancing since he followed his sister to ballet class when he was 4. Although he wants to be a professional dancer Matthew's parents still want him to finish his education before going to dance school.

Matthew's big sister Anna is a huge inspiration to him and along with his dance teacher helps choreograph his routines.
Dancer of the Year
As well as contemporary, Matthew dances Hip Hop and Tap - in fact, he was a runner up in The Tap Dancer of The Year at the All England Championships last year.
Matthew started dancing at just 2 years old when he would go and watch his sisters ballet class every week until the teacher asked if he would like to join in. Since then Matthew has never stopped. Although he danced every Saturday it was only a hobby until he got older and started to take his dancing more seriously.
Training
At 9, Matthew was accepted to the Royal Ballet School's Junior Associate Programme, travelling to Leeds from his Salford home every Saturday to train. It was then that Matthew made the decision to become a professional dancer.
It was while training in Manchester at Centre Point that he he started taking part in competitions.
Matthew has also appeared as the first Chinese Billy Elliot on the West End stage. He stayed in the role for 9 months before returning to his studies.

Proud
Of everything he has achieved Matthew is most proud of winning The Young Ballet Dancer of the Year award.
If he does win Got To Dance Matthew says he will put the £100,000 prize money to paying for his dance education so that his parents wil not have to. Winning would also help him prove to his parents that dance school and being a professional dancer is the right decision for him.
World Class
When Matthew appeared at auditions the judges were stunned by his routine. Kimberly Wyatt telling him he had set the bar for the rest of the competition.
Adam Garcia told the audience they had been lucky to see "a world class dancer." When the judges were reviewing the auditions Matthew brought Kimberly to tears.
Powerful
Matthew flew on to the semi final stage and once again recieved a standing ovation from the three judges.
With a dance inspired by himself, and to show the world who he is Matthew's routine was as powerful and dynamic as his audition.
He won you over too and your votes put him through to the live final on Valantine's Day. So Matthew will be back for his last chance, last dance for the £100,000 prize.
