Inspired by Fred Astaire, Kane Ricca is determined to bring tap back in to the limelight. Kane dances every day and even if he's in bed - his feet are still moving!

Super confident Kane often dances to his own compositions and plays the guitar and the piano as well as dancing tap, modern, ballet and street.

Producing

Dancing for 12 years, Kane feels that attention to tap has been lost amongst a lot of the contemporary dances like street. He was inspired to start dancing after seeing Starlight Express.

At just 16 it seems there is nothing Kane can not do. He has already appeared on the West End and is producing his own album.

Kane is not the only talented member of his family. His Nan also went to theatre school when she was younger and was friends with Barbra Windsor, but she talked too much and was asked to leave.

Cried

When he told her about his audition, Kane's Nan cried down the phone - she and Kane's Mum are really supportive and always behind him 100%.

Kane is originally from St Alban's and is a performing arts student dedicated to making it in the entertainment world.

The pinnacle of Kane's career so far was dancing in front of a stadium of 20,000 people in Zurich. He has also recently raised £1,200 for the British Red Cross in a tap competition.

Kane's most embarrassing on-stage moment was when he was appearing in a musical called the Far Pavillions. The set was at the time the most expensive in the West End and was based on a revolving set that moved around the stage. When Kane made his big entrance he tripped and his prop knife fell down a crack and short-circuited the whole theatre - plunging it into darkness.

But not even a dark theatre could stop Kane and he launched in to his opening number with no lights, orchestra or microphone until he was carried off stage to tumultuous applause.

Amazed

Theadam-garcia-dancing---star-bkg judges were amazed when Kane tapped his way out on stage. His updated, quick paced routine put him straight through to the judges shortlist with 3 Gold Stars.

Kane was especially chuffed when his hero fellow tap dancer Adam Garcia told him he had "great feet". Adam was truly impressed by Kane's talent as well as his confidence!

Kane reached new levels when he came for the live semi final and a set specially made for him. Dancing kane-mwup, down and across the different steps and finally doing a spectacular leap from the top. The judges, especially Adam again, loved his performance. But Kane's leaps and tap were not enough and you voted Matthew Koon and MJ Latin through to the live final.
