Fancy-Feet-106575Fancy Feet are representing Northern  Ireland on Got To Dance. The nation fell for River Dance all those years ago - will we fall for Fancy Feet? Fancy Feet are Gerard, 20 and Rachel, 19.

Unique

They think that they are unique as they dance to a mix of modern and traditional music. They have been dancing together for 2 years but have also competed seperately in dance competitions.

Gerard was encouraged to go to dance class when he was just 4 years old. He found it hard as he was younger than the other dancers and the children at high school did not think dancing was very cool for a boy.

Rachel started dancing and making up routines in her bedroom and she begged her mum to let her take up Irish dancing. At 15 her mum finally gave in and Rachel has been dancing ever since.

As a solo performer Gerard has won 1st place at the American Nationals, 2nd in the British Nationals and 3rd at the Worlds.

Best Friends

Fancy Feet describe themselves as best friends and love nothing more than a "good boogie" when they go out.

They both really want to win Got To Dance and promote Irish dancing.

Winners

Rachel was a runner up in the Ulster Irish Dance Championships last year and with the competition coming up again they are both hoping to walk away winners.

Got To Dance is the first time they have entered a competition as Fancy Feet. They normally dance at non-competitive exhibitions, wedding receptions and St Patrick's Day events.

Gerard is training to be a loss adjuster and Rachel is a fitness instructor. They both live with their families.
