Eleven year old Emily is the youngest of four children and lives in a little village near Loch Tay in Scotland.  Emily, who is in her final year at primary school, is always helping around the house as her parents run a Guest House and Bistro.

Freestyle

Her family have given up every weekend so Emily can dance. Starting dance classes at just 2 while her mum went to Chapel, by 5 Emily was competing in freestyle and slow dance competitions. By the age of just 7 she had won her first major competition.

Emily trains 15 hours every week -  or more if she has a competition coming up. Her training and competing means her mum drives Emily thousands of miles at the weekends. All so that Emily can realise her dream and get a place at stage school.

Never Lost

For the last 2 years Emily has never lost a competition, so all the hard work is already paying off! Emily has won the British Freestyle Championships in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and the European Freestyle Championships in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Emily and her family are hoping she can keep up her winning streak on Got To Dance.

Outrageous

Emily is more than just the confident girl with the sequins on stage. Her mum says there are two Emilys: The outrageous confident dancer with big hair and sparkly make-up, but also the wee countryside girl who helps with the family business and loves to ride her bike and climb trees. But Emily's mum says that's how she wants it and that their quiet country life helps keep Emily grounded.emily-kane-3

Singing

As well as dancing Emily loves to do Gaelic singing, playing golf and playing the piano. Her favourite films are Hairspray and Flashdance, and she says she would love to play a young Shirley Temple in a film about her life.

If she won the £100,000 prize, Emily would buy new tracksuits for everyone at her dance school, treat her friends and family and fund stage school for herself.

Shocking

Ashley Banjo described Emily's audition as "shocking", and told Emily her whole dance had been "supercool."

Adam Garcia said Emily was "superb," and Kimberly Wyatt agreed. "The level of talent that exists in you is extraordinary, a pleasure to watch."

Emily took our breath away during the first live semi final. Dancing to Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited" with emilyher usual flexible moves Emily took Kimberly's critisms on the chin. Kimberly was the only judge to give Emily a Red Star, saying she had loose ankles. But EMily took hope that Kimberly was getting technical because her routine was so good and could only find small details to correct.

Emily also impressed you and she was voted straight through to the live final on Valentine's day.
