The only jazz group in the Got To Dance final 18, Eclipse have a lot to prove.

The tight-knit Welsh group are determined to bring back old school lindy hop glamour to the scene.

Charity

The group was started by renowned dance teacher Debbie Chapman, who choreographs their routines in the kitchen, ably helped by her daughter Anna.

Amazingly the group have only been dancing together for 2 months. Most of the money they raise dancing goes to charity and so far their dance school has raised over £100,000 for local charities and £5,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

Confidence

The group has already had at least one success story. Oliver is one of only two boys in the group and was born with a rare condition called Binders syndrome. He has always loved to dance but felt he was not good enough because he so looked different from the dancers around him.

After an operation last year which took 10 hours, Oliver was left with 64 clips in his skull. It was Eclipse which has given him his confidence back and Got To Dance is his way to prove himself. Oliver wants to dance no matter what other people think. Being out in front of large audiences boosts his confidence - and what better audience than the British public?

Dilapidated

Eclipse rehearse in a dilapidated old Scout hut twice a week. The hut is less than perfect with broken floorboards and no mirrors. They also regularly get kicked out by Scouts wanting to use the hut.

If they won the £100,000 prize money they would buy a new dance hall, since so far they have given evey penny to charity it would be nice to get something back.

The 15 members of Eclipse includes a mix of students, a dental nurse, a personal trainer, a secretary and a make-up artist. They all love being so different from all the street crews around at the moment.
